Reconhecimento e detecção no Broken Arrow: ver primeiro, atirar primeiro
Como visão, detecção e furtividade funcionam no Broken Arrow: por que o reconhecimento vence os combates antes de começarem, como óptica e camuflagem interagem, e como reconhecer sem sacrificar seus batedores.
Why recon decides fights
In Broken Arrow you can only shoot what you can see. The side that spots first shoots first — and firing first often means the target dies before it can return fire. That's why recon is not a niche category; it's the backbone of every good army.
Skipping recon is a classic beginner mistake: you push blind into enemies who saw you coming, and you lose trades you should have won.
Optics versus concealment
Two hidden stats drive spotting: a unit's optics (how well it sees) and its concealment/stealth (how hard it is to see). A dedicated recon unit has strong optics and often good stealth, letting it detect enemies from far away while staying hidden itself.
Terrain changes both. Forests and towns hide units and shorten sightlines; open ground and high positions extend vision. A scout in a treeline can watch a whole field while an enemy 200 metres away never sees it.
Keep eyes forward, shooters behind
The winning shape is recon in front, your damage-dealers a step back. The scout reveals the target; your tanks and ATGMs — sitting safely behind — do the killing. Never lead a push with your expensive shooters; lead it with cheap eyes.
This also protects against ambushes. If your recon walks into a hidden enemy, you lose a cheap scout and learn where the enemy is, instead of losing a full tank column to a surprise.
Scout without feeding your scouts
Recon that moves constantly gets seen and killed. Move a scout to a good vantage point, then hold it still and let it watch — stationary units are harder to detect and see further. Use short bounds: move, stop, observe, repeat.
Keep scouts cheap and expendable, but don't throw them away. Losing map information mid-fight is worse than losing a tank — suddenly your whole army is shooting blind.
Vision is a team of tools
Ground recon, recon helicopters and aircraft each see different things: helicopters and planes spot deep but are fragile and loud, ground scouts sit quietly on key sightlines. Combine them. Denying enemy recon matters too — kill their scouts and the enemy army goes blind.
Every unit's optics and stealth are listed in our unit database, and the beginner guide ties recon together with the rest of the fundamentals.
